this match report is once again written by Patrick Wall, your Dod for this game
After a great first game vs Phoenix, the M2s traveled the 8 mile journey to Henley at snails pace, with most of the team arriving 35 mins late to the meet time. Sonning traffic, bite me.
The game started well, with Henley being put under immediate pressure, as we continue to grow into our new system. It paid dues with early goals and some great moves by the forwards and midfielders leading some Barcelona style free-flowing attacking play.
Henley responded as they seem to, with aggression, with a collection of youthful 20 somethings continuing to throw elbows, and abuse at players and officials alike. Greeny, relishing the role his size made him born to play, came off grinning like thr Cheshire Cat.
Half time, with two of the best 1 yard goals you'll ever see until next weekend from Santa and Doug put is in strong position.
Complacency is what we needed to watch and Henley grew into the game. Their versions of the Inside Out anger emotion starting to show they actually had some hockey ability, helped pull them back into it. However it was telling that their goals came from SCs and off our own players from deflections which shows the solidity at the back.
As the game drew on, with new coach Simon filming our SCs. We put the game to bed late on with finishes from Santa and Pat. A lovely way to lead into a great weekend. Onwards to Newbury!
Mom - Santa for goals
Dod - Pat for the Oscar nominated acting when getting hit on the head.
