Sonning complete the Derby double.

An early morning start awaited Sonning at the home of their local rivals. With Abingdon players not in the crowd Reading didn't have much to play for.

With the first 5 minutes of the match being played end to end the tempo was set it was just a question of who would blink first and it came from the lights Blues.

A short corner was won by Sonning and with Dean back the pressure was on Cal to perform and he went for caution with a roller towards the corner. The fans waited an age it seemed the ball to go to it's destination but it got safely landing at the backboard of the Reading goal.

Dean picked a long field pass and spotted Huw with an excellent first touch he set up Jimmy one one with Goalkeeper (don't ask him about his later one on one). Jimmy slowed down the pace allowing Huw to catch up with an excellent run which Jimmy found, Huw nonchalantly lifted the ball over the sliding defender and into the net. I think we all heard whether the defender wanted some sauce with his chips from Huw.

2-0 Sonning and Reading were at sea.

For the remainder of the half it seemed as though Sonning had control but a lucky deflection led to a loose ball at the top of their D which the Reading dispatched to give the home team some hope.

The halftime whistle blew allowing Sonning players to get a drink and Sully could go to the loo. The message was clear, calm heads were needed nothing was won yet.

The second half was all about the defence putting everything on the line and staying strong in front of the Reading attack which contained Man United Alejandro Garnacho, who is also not that good at hockey but does love to shout and scream.

Reading continued to huff and puff but they couldn't blow down Sonning's defence with Sully standing tall and Luke breaking his hand for the cause.

The full-time whistle blew and eruption from the Sonning players as they knew how big of a result this was. Two more wins and what some would have called the unthinkable might just happen...
