A bright sunny day in Yateley bid us a warm welcome and we were ready for the final game before Christmas.
The game started and Sonning came out with lots of pressure but we weren’t able to capitalise on some easy chances. The first goal came, however, from a well constructed short corner.
The rest of the half was a pressure contest with both teams having a chances. The half ended with Yateley clearly on top after scoring an equaliser.
After a debrief, the second half began and Sonning were keen to start in the manner as the first. Things proved difficult however and Yateley were a tough opponent to break down and keep away from chances at our goal.
The tide turned around the 50 minute mark with successive breakaway goals to Sonning which stamped our name as winners for the game. The final score was 4-1 and a well deserved grudge match in favour of Sonning.
