Change of penalty Flick taker but the curse continues with another miss

Sonning travelled to Wallingford knowing that they needed to keep the pressure on the top two teams. However recent visits haven't been easy and that continued again for a much changed Sonning side missing key players and their captain.
Wallingford started the game bright, using for a lot of their players most of their energy on a quick start but Sonning soaked up the pressure and grew into the match.
Sonning started to stretch Wallingford and made defence move side to side without getting the ball. Then a wonderful move was finished off by a wonderful reverse strike by Jordan gave Sonning a deserved lead.
Sonning kept pushing for a second with Harvey coming close and the forwards maintained that pressure until the end of the first half.
The second off continued in the same way and Sonning got a deserved second from Jordan finishing off a scruffy penalty corner.
However Wallingford came back into the match and got a contentious penalty Flick after the ball was cleared on the line by Luke's stick but then hit his foot with the umpire in the D saying it was still going in. A decision not accepted by the Sonning players and questioned by some Wallingford crowd members but obviously agreed by the Wallingford forward. Up stepped the the forward and dispatched the penalty Flick.
However Sonning drove back and won their own penalty Flick when their postman flung his foot out on the line like he was playing football, maybe deliberately but no card was shown.
As a result Jordan had his moment to score his hat trick and after seeing Huw's penalty flicks, he knew what he had to do and outshine him. He certainly did that. The ball rolled and the GK had to wait for it to get close to him before pushing it away.
That gave Wallingford the momentum but for all the ball they had and the penalty corners nothing was sharp enough to get past the Sonning defence.
In the final 10 mins Luke decided that one of their players dribbling through the midfield unchallenged was unacceptable and he decided to take him out and was given a green after a few cries again from the Wallingford forward (deserved or not deserved, maybe it should have been a yellow).
But even down to 10 Sonning were resilient and held onto the three points and kept their pressure on the top of the league.
Match teas rating - 2/5. No imagination. Plain chips with a toasted pulled pork wrap and no veggie option available.
