Firstly a thank you for South Berks for managing to get a squad and coach to host this game in between all their other matches.
Sonning arrived with a few too many players in the U15 bracket this week meaning a quick adjustment to the teams after 5 minutes to level things up a little - big thanks to Nathan and Anton for stepping up and playing on the South Berks team.
Two of the Sonning goals came in the first few minutes with Tom, Daniel and Zach all combining well against a young South Berks team. Things were a little different after the changing of the teams with the South Berks Central defender and the two Sonning loanees providing much stiffer opposition.
Katie had volunteered to go in goal for the first time ever and didn't quite manage to keep out the first South Berks effort but made 4 or 5 saves in pads about 3 sizes too big for her. Sonning managed to score another goal but were guilty of not looking when passing and therefore not making the most of their opportunities. Two short corners in succession at the end of the game resulted in Nathan getting a good goal for South Berks - although a big defensive swish & a miss on the Sonning line did help him slightly (mentioning no names!)
