On the plus side, Billy’s night out on Friday meant he managed to persuade Joe to play, on the negative side, it meant he didn’t go to bed until 7 (tsk, these kids) and Sam wasn’t a whole lot better either. Anyway, they have promised to stay sober-ish for the Big One v Henley next weekend. We went all out in the first half and had a great first twenty mins or so and managed to go one up through Timmy. To be fair, it should have been more as we dominated the game pretty much but a late short corner reminded us that MK weren’t out of the picture.
And so it came to pass, all 15 of the Sonning contingent at the pitch were still asleep as the first half started, a strong MK finish from the top of the D which left Bambi rubbing his thigh to try and prove a point. The rest of the match was end to end, Jamie forced into a couple of good saves in the Sonning goal. We had a number of chances to win it but some wasted short corners, Joe missing a couple of 1 on 1’s, Timmy windmilling his way round the D and Toon shooting straight at the goalie the main offenders.
Massive game next week, early to bed on Friday
