Gentleman,
A cracking result to end the first half of the season sees us in 10th place in the league. We remain both the leagues lowest scoring team, but also by far the strongest defence in the league!
This week we face Wootton Wanders 1st XI who are are top of the league, however cracks do appear in their armour when they are on the road. Let's get them hell at Fortress Sonning.
Things to focus on for this weekend;
1. Recycling the ball if we don't have a forward option - As we practised in training.
2. Being aware of your own responsibilities as a player e.g positionally
3. Taking our chances, we can't be beaten on goals scored by Staines..
3. Playing the simple pass to a players strong side
4. Being switched on from the off, too often we've been caught early on in games, mentally we should be preparing ourselves in the warm up and continue the game mentality through.
5. Movement off the ball - Creating space for those taking hits from the back
6. Enjoying ourselves!
A few reminders as always;
1. Umpiring - We need volunteers for January and onwards. As you all know, games wouldn't happen without umpires, we need to get more people volunteering to help out the club. I'd like the whole team to target volunteering to umpire at least once during the season.
2. Training balls - Our balls seem to have gone missing either from the lockup, or picked up by one of the team after a match at the end of the year, does anyone have these?
