Sonning Mens 1XI 5 - 3 Staines Mens 2XI

On a day where the ladies ones were set to win the league unbeaten, it was going to take something extremely special for the men's 1s to be the talk of the club - yet they were still able to do it.

After a lovely journey seeing the sites en route to Staines, M1s were pumped to take three points home. Sharpy put in a beaut of a ball from the left into Gally who Mis-hit it and somehow ended up in the back of the net.

Jimmy 'the machine' Manser then stepped up to steal the show. After initially getting taken out by an absolute monstrous tackle at the back (which subsequently saw Gally get a yellow for chat, shock) he then went on to score an outrageous one touch finish through his legs. 2 goals for Ning.

Huge performances from the back 5 kept staines at bay, and the midfield 3 were able to break and run the show.

The second half commenced and within nano seconds Jimmy scored a beautiful drag flick into the top right hand corner, with a beautiful assist from Gally.

Alex littleboy then had a great flick saved (sorry). Sonning had to keep their composure as China was beginning to fume - fortunately the Sonning saviour stepped up again and scored an unreal reversey bottom right.

Ed and Callum had played absolutely blinders, so much so that coach Oli felt the need to get warm - thankfully we didn't have to see him step onto the pitch.

With minutes to go, jimmy was that man again to really grab the game by its neck and put in his 4th of the afternoon - and a notable 3rd assist for mr Gallagher.

A wonderful afternoon which saw Sonning put 5 in the back of the net.

Staines scored 3 at some point in the afternoon too.
