Ladies 3s vs Kidlington
Meeting for the first official league game of the season is always very exciting...like your first day at school, new top...check, new Astros...check, new stick...check, new players...check!
The game started quickly and SL3s were on the attack wave after wave...we had caught Kidlington snoozing so what better time than to capitalise and score...a little messy in the goal mouth but Mary Jones scrambled the ball over the line to give us the lead.
This early goal gave eager SL3s drive to apply more pressure on the Kidlington defence. With a number of opportunities squandered SL3s began to get a little flustered...thankfully half time came to allow us to regain focus and hatch a new plan.
After the break SL3s upped the pace, working hard in midfield and producing some excellent supporting play. Phases of play grew and allowed SL3s to develop with confidence, breaking Kidlington's defence and testing their goal keeper. Unfortunately SL3s couldn't improve on the first half goal and ended the game 1-0...1 game played, 1 win in the bag! Well done girls!!
