Following last weekend's double-promotion-clinching antics for both 2nd XIs, attention now focuses on those teams battling for survival

Kicking things off this weekend are the Men's 5s, who will be looking to carry forward some good momentum from last weekend's solid win against local rivals Reading, and looking to make up for a disappointing result in the last fixture against visitors Wycombe, where they were on the receiving end of a 6-0 loss. With only two games to play, there are still three teams - including the 5s - battling to avoid joining Aylesbury 4s in dropping down a division. If results go their way, a win could, however, see the Ning live to fight another day.

Meanwhile, over on the Reading sand based pitch, the Ladies' 3s will be entertaining nextdoor neighbours Reading 3As, in what is actually a home fixture for the Ning. With the Ning safely in mid-table, and the Ding consigned to relegation, it's just local bragging rights to play for, but if the reverse fixture is anything to go by, that won't prevent it from being a feisty affair. The Ning ran out 4-0 winners that day, so will be looking for a repeat performance.

Back over at the Doom Bar Arena, the Men's 1s will also be looking for a repeat of their last result against PHC Chiswick 1s, which saw them dominate the game and come away with an 8-0 victory that kickstarted a (short lived) purple patch. It's likely a tougher task will lay ahead this time, but a victory should result in guaranteed safety, with Staines travelling away to a very strong Eastcote side.

Next up, the Men's 3s, who a safe in their league, but pushing for a strong end to the year, with free-scoring Timmy Preston especially looking to crack on in an attempt to overhaul the two people that sit above him in the league top scorer chart. They welcome embattled Leighton Buzzard 1s to 'The Arena' , and will be looking to make up for a missed opportunity the last team the teams met. This promises to be a hugely entertaining game, with LB edging a 12 goal thriller 7-5 last time around. The baying crowds will be hoping for a repeat showing, but with a more positive outcome for the Ning.

The penultimate game of the day sees the Ladies' 4s host Abingdon 2s. Both teams are assured of their places in the league next season, but the 4s will be looking to make up for narrowly missing out by just a single goal in the reverse fixture. Aylesbury have only lost two of their last nine games, so it promises to be a tough challenge, but one that the ladies will definitely be up for.

Closing out the day, the Ladies Vets, also guaranteed to be safe, take on Reading Uni 4s. Whilst the visitors will have youth on their side, the Vets will be looking to make the most of their wily experience to get the better of their more junior counterparts, and make up for a 5-2 loss last time out. The Vets will be looking to carry on their good run of form, which has seen them lose only once in the last 5 games, and will be hoping that the Uni will still be reeling from last weekend's 12-0 shocker against Thame.

Have a great weekend one and all. Any support you're able to come and offer our home teams is greatly appreciated.
