It is with great sadness that we report the death of Tim Bence, who collapsed during a game for his beloved Oxford Hockey club last weekend.
Tim will be known throughout the south leagues for the number of years he served at Oxford and at Rover Oxford playing in goal, where he was always keen to play for any team on any day be it Men's or mixed hockey.

Many will remember him most for his ever-present smile and good humour - regardless of the result. He was always keen for a chat and a beer afterwards, and is well known to many at Sonning as a regular at our festival. He will be much missed by both his friends and his family and our thoughts are with them as well as his team mates past and present, at this time.

Rest in peace Tim.
