SONNING 0 - 2 WINDSOR

Rain again as we started. In our early days the current weather would have rendered grass pitches unplayable but there is no let up now! However the sun shines on the righteous and within minutes the rain had stopped for us to concentrate on the task in hand.

Old rivals, Windsor had their full complement of talent, experience and team work all at full throttle and Sonning had to work hard to prevent their attacks bearing fruit.

As always in Windsor games, Karen Vive cut out many threatening moves and rendered the Windsor centre-forward powerless. Carol Miles intercepted more than her fair share of forward moves and Sue Hicks was also worked hard clearing many on target shots.

Sonning were not without opportunities, but at present lack the on-target scoring shots. The Windsor pressure and succession of short corners were eventually too much, with 2 goals coming in the second half.
