SONNING 0 - 1 MAIDENHEAD

The Sonning Team entered this top of the table clash full of confidence following three league wins on the trot.

The first half started at a quick tempo and continued that way until the half-time whistle blew. Pleasingly, the Sonning team matched the predominantly young Maidenhead side for fitness. And, while the possession was evenly matched, Sonning certainly had the majority of chances with Maidenhead rarely troubling the Sonning goal. Half-time score 0-0.

The second half saw a minor change in formation which slightly disrupted the Sonning team. This was punished by an always alert Maidenhead forward line, despite the valiant attempts by Hannah Foster to the contrary, to take the score to 1-0.

Despite some excellent attacking play and in particularly the 'never say die' attitudes of joint players of the match Rennee Bourke and Claire Thrussell, the final score remained 1-0.

The Sonning team while disappointed at losing three points, took some consolation from a great supportive team performance.
