SONNING 0 - 2 AMERSHAM & CHALFONT

The Ladies 2's travelled to Amersham for what promised to be a tough match against the second placed team in the league. After a delayed start, Sonning started slowly but still had much of the possession during the first 15 minutes. However, Amersham started to gradually dominate the game and began driving strongly down the right side of the pitch. Overall, the first half was a very mixed affair but it was Amersham who manage to convert their chances from two short corners to go up 2 - 0 at half time.

Sonning tried to refocus during the half time talk and lifted their game in the second half, starting promisingly, but were unable to convert their chances. Overall, there was more urgency about the Sonning play after the break, with faster ball tempo at times leading to a number of shots on goal, which unfortunately narrowly missed. Lucy and Gemma both had some close chances and with Amersham failing to score again, Sonning managed to draw the second half, 0 - 0. But in the end the win went to Amersham, 2 - 0.

Muff of the Day: Yasmin Williams! When Sonning arrived at the Amersham club house, we were a little unsure of which door we could go in by ... so ...we sent the nearest person, Yasmin, to try out what looked like the main entrance. However, Yasmin was sure that it was locked, so we proceeded to walk around the back of the building towards the rubbish bins, only to discover that Yasmin should have pulled the door and not pushed it!! With little else to vote for, it was decided unanimously that it was a worthy enough cock-up to win muff this week!
