A delayed start to the 2nd half of the season saw us fired up & ready to play….more to the point…WIN!

New & That came to SHC in the first half of the season & left winning 3-1….this was not going to happen this time round!

Game started fairly fast with majority of possession ours, New & That made a few attempts at retaliating but fortunately did not succeed. SL4s played hard & strong, with the upmost determination to win.

SL4s first goal came from a fantastic bit of play from Pollard, leggy Pollard skipped down the right side of the pitch and played a perfect ball into the ultra-leggy Matthews who lined herself up, got her eye on the ball and struck the ball in ‘sweet’ style…bottom left of keeper…no chance…Goalll!!!!! SL4s 1-0

New & That, came back fighting, throwing in tackles, here, there and everywhere….however what they didn’t have is Stannard…her moto is ‘barge for the ball’. Stannard failed on every attempt at winning the ball fairly…so decided it was only right she ‘body checked’ half the opposition & herself…spending the majority of her time on the floor….gracefully winning herself MUFF of the Match!!

Credit to New & That they worked hard….so hard in fact they had a perfect situation on goal…1 on 1 with the keeper, our defenders left for dust…McGauran’s feet could run no faster and then there was Adams….like a scene from the Batman TV programme of the 60s…’BAAAMMMM!!!’ Adams wipes out their solo striker….Penalty Stroke!!! SL4s 1-1!!

SL4s start strong…knowing what we need to do…& we did just that…

SL4s holding possession(ish), so well in fact we have won ‘long corner’ of the season…Bedford taking 6 long corners before losing the ball one last time.

Anyway after a game of Yo-Yo-ing about SL4s lost their cool and proceeded to charge at New & That…seemed to work, Matthews with another strike at goal, SL4s 2-1.

Well done ladies…defence we owe you this game!
